What Does a Wedding Planner Actually Do?

One of the most common questions couples ask is:
“What does a wedding planner actually do—and which service do I need?”
The answer depends on how much guidance, support, and involvement you’d like throughout the planning process.
At Bella Poggio Events, I offer three levels of service, each designed to meet couples where they are in their planning journey.
Full Wedding Planning (La Dolce Vita)
Full Wedding Planning is designed for couples who want expert guidance from the very beginning.
From creating a realistic budget and selecting the right venue to managing vendors, design decisions, timelines, and logistics, every aspect of the planning process is professionally guided and organized.
Full Wedding Planning Includes:
- Budget creation and management
- Venue sourcing and selection support
- Vendor recommendations and booking assistance
- Design guidance and event styling
- Timeline creation and planning oversight
- Wedding day execution

Best For:
- Busy professionals
- Destination weddings
- Couples planning from out of town
- Anyone seeking a highly guided, seamless planning experience
Partial Wedding Planning (Insieme)
Partial Planning is ideal for couples who have completed some of the foundational planning decisions but would like professional guidance moving forward.
Whether you’ve secured your venue, booked a few vendors, or simply want expert support as the details become more complex, Partial Planning helps ensure everything comes together cohesively.
Partial Wedding Planning Includes:
- Vendor refinement and recommendations
- Timeline development
- Design direction and cohesion
- Planning support and guidance
Best For:
- Couples who have already started planning
- Couples who want professional support without beginning from scratch
- Those looking for guidance, structure, and reassurance throughout the process

Wedding Coordination (La Finale)
Despite the name, Wedding Coordination involves much more than simply showing up on the wedding day.
Coordination begins approximately 90 days before your wedding and focuses on organizing the details you’ve spent months planning.
Wedding Coordination Includes:
- Final timeline creation
- Vendor confirmations and communication
- Logistics management
- Ceremony and reception coordination
- Wedding day oversight and execution
Important Note:
Wedding Coordination is not “day-of” coordination. Professional coordination begins weeks before the wedding to ensure every detail is reviewed, confirmed, and prepared for a seamless celebration.

Which Service Is Right for You?
The right level of support depends on:
- How much planning you’ve already completed
- How involved you’d like to be in the planning process
- Your comfort level managing vendors and logistics
- The overall complexity of your wedding
The truth is, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.
During our consultation, we’ll talk through your wedding plans, what you’ve already accomplished, and where you need support so we can determine the best fit for your celebration.
Because every couple deserves to feel confident, supported, and able to fully enjoy the experience of getting married. đź’›
